The music you choose to play at your wedding is one of the most important aspects of
your big day. It sets the vibe of the evening and creates a lasting effect on your guests,
they may not remember what they had for entree or main but they will certainly remember
if they were up and dancing on the dance floor by the end of the night!

                                                           

The biggest mistake couples make is confining the music that will be played to what
their personal taste is. Wedding music should cater for all your guests, young and old.
Make sure your wedding band or DJ will play songs of a wide variety; everything from
Classical, Disco, Soul, Motown, Pop and Rock.
                                                                             

                                                              
Live entertainment are the professionals here and they will have extensive experience
performing at weddings. Let them judge the crowd and play their set list accordingly.
But at the same time, if you have specific songs that you would like played (for
example, for your Bridal Waltz, etc.) then contact us and provide us with a list which         
we will pass on to the band. Nine times out of ten the band will know the song already,
but if they don't you need to make sure you have given them ample time to learn it.



Don’t bother asking us if you can see potential bands. Professional bands 90% of the
time are doing corporate events or private functions (like your wedding) and these
events are not open to public viewing. I'm sure you wouldn't appreciate random
strangers turning up to your wedding to check out the entertainment! Here at Instinct

The most logical and ideal way to have your music is as follows;
                                                                                                                                 
Start off with a casual, laid back, acoustic vibe playing in the background, as your
guests will be arriving and want to be able to chit chat and socialise with one
another (no doubt there will be relatives who haven't seen each other for a while!).
Once the formalities are over and the main meals have been served that's
when the real fun begins! This is when the vibe can get more upbeat and
they party sets can be performed. 
                                                                                                                                        


One of the important factors to remember when booking a venue is to make sure that
there is no sound restrictions. Some venues will have what's known as a 'decibel meter'
which means that if the sound gets too loud it will cut out so as not to distort the
speakers. Speak to the venue manager about this. Don't stress, if your venue has this
restriction you are still able to have entertainment - it will just have to be on a smaller
